From June 22 to 26, Belgrade will host the XXI World Congress of Economists, organized by the International Economic Association and the Serbian Economists Union. The five‑day event at the Sava Center is expected to bring together roughly 1,000 participants from over 80 countries, including Nobel laureates Esther Duflo, Jean Tirole and Eric Maskin, and leading scholars such as Dani Rodrik, David Autor, Hélène Rey, Justin Yifu Lin and many others.
Panels will address artificial intelligence, automation, globalisation versus nationalism, multilateralism versus bilateralism, industrial policy, international trade, inflation, monetary stability and the future of work. Serbian officials – Finance Minister Siniša Mali, National Bank Governor Jorgovanka Tabaković and President Aleksandar Vučić – are slated to speak. The congress is sponsored by AikBank, Delta Holding and Mastercard.
