World Context hosts robotics hackathon at UC Berkeley
Pakistani robotics data startup World Context hosted its inaugural robotics hackathon at the University of California, Berkeley. The event brought together 13 teams to develop projects using the company’s specialized datasets, aiming to strengthen artificial intelligence and technology ties between Pakistan and the United States.
World Context specializes in collecting human demonstration data, which involves recording individuals performing physical tasks in real-world environments like factories. This data is used to train robotics systems to operate effectively in the physical world.
Participants competed in hardware, software, and visualization tracks. The Sortbot project won the hardware track, while the Reconstructors team won both the software and visualization tracks. A total of $4,500 in cash prizes was awarded. The event was held in partnership with Blockchain at Berkeley and sponsored by several organizations, including Google Gemini and ElevenLabs.
