World Cup 2026 fans pay high beer prices at US fan venues

As the 2026 FIFA World Cup unfolds across the United States, Canada and Mexico, fans attending events in American cities are encountering steep drink costs. In New York, the German Football Association opened a "German House of Soccer" where a beer is sold for ten dollars – described as a relative bargain compared with the twenty‑three‑dollar price at the nearby Yankees venue. The opening attracted about 400 guests, including DFB officials, German supporters and American fans.

In Houston, the FIFA fan festival charges roughly fifteen dollars for an imported beer and about thirteen dollars for a domestic brew. Additional items such as soft drinks, water, pizza and parking also carry high price tags, prompting visitors to spend hundreds of dollars on food, drink and transport while watching Germany’s opening match against Curaçao.
