FIFA World Cup 2026 Final debut halftime show featuring Madonna, Shakira, BTS and Justin Bieber

On July 19, 2026, the FIFA World Cup final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey will host the tournament’s first official halftime show. The 11‑minute live performance, curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, will feature global music stars Madonna, Shakira, BTS and Justin Bieber, with additional appearances by Burna Boy, conductor Gustavo Dudamel and a New York elementary‑school choir. FIFA says the show will support the Global Citizen Education Fund, aiming to raise US$100 million for children’s education and football programmes worldwide. The break between halves will be extended to a total of 17 minutes to accommodate stage set‑up and removal. Ugandan dance group the Ghetto Kids, invited by Shakira, will also appear on stage. A parallel free‑ticket lottery lets up to 50,000 fans gather on Central Park’s Great Lawn to watch the final and the halftime spectacle together. While some commentators, such as Robert Smith of The Cure, have criticised the commercialised “bread‑and‑circuses” nature of the event, organizers present it as the “greatest show on Earth”.
