World Cup Half-Time Concert Features Global Artists and Charity Initiative
A symphonic concert called “Gran Concierto Mundialista” was staged in Bogotá, Colombia, bringing together more than 50 musicians who performed pieces representing the musical identity of nations such as Colombia, Spain, Germany, Brazil, Argentina and France. The program opened with Handel’s “Zadok the Priest” and included works by Lucho Bermúdez, Manuel de Falla, Beethoven, Camargo Guarnieri, Alberto Ginastera and others, while the orchestra wore the colors of different football teams and the conductor acted as a sports commentator.
A separate half‑time show at the World Cup final was highlighted for its star‑studded line‑up and large charitable fundraiser. Performers mentioned include Madonna, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo Nazário, BTS, Justin Bieber, Burna Boy, Ghetto Kids, the New York Philharmonic under Gustavo Dudamel, the Muppets, Sesame Street characters and a children’s choir directed by Chris Martin of Coldplay. The spectacle raised millions for global projects and sparked debate about extending the traditional 15‑minute break, with some artists publicly questioning the format.
