World Economic Forum tourism report shows shifts for Philippines and Indonesia

The World Economic Forum (WEF) has released its latest Travel & Tourism Development Index (TTDI) Insight Report, highlighting shifts in the global tourism landscape.

The Philippines has seen a significant rise, climbing eight spots to rank 57th out of 110 economies. This improvement is attributed to strengthened infrastructure, enhanced air connectivity, and strategic post-pandemic tourism initiatives. The country is recognized as one of the major emerging markets in the sector.

Indonesia ranks 23rd out of 110 economies. While its overall score increased by 2.2 percent compared to two years ago, its relative ranking dropped one position from 22nd in the 2024 index. This shift occurred as many other economies also saw score improvements. Indonesia remains part of a group of ten key emerging tourism economies, which includes nations such as China, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Türkiye, Mexico, and Brazil.
