World Egg Day marks 30th anniversary with global nutritional initiatives

World Egg Day is being observed this October, marking 30 years since the International Egg Commission established the celebration in 1996. The day highlights the nutritional importance of eggs, specifically their high-quality protein, vitamins, and minerals that support brain development and cardiovascular health.

In Canada, Egg Farmers of Canada is honoring the 1,290 producers who maintain food safety and animal welfare standards through the supply management system. Meanwhile, in Mauritius, Inicia and Caritas Mauritius are conducting nutritional workshops to teach families how to prepare balanced meals using affordable ingredients like eggs.

In Argentina, the Cámara Argentina de Productores Avícolas (CAPIA) is organizing national dissemination efforts, promotional distributions, and educational meetings for veterinary and animal science students to mark the anniversary.
