World Fireworks Championship Returns to Blackpool in September 2026

The World Fireworks Championship will be staged in Blackpool this autumn, with three free nightly displays scheduled for Saturday 12 September, Saturday 26 September and Saturday 10 October 2026. The shows will be synchronized to music and launched from the beach in front of the Blackpool Tower. Three nations are set to compete, with the participating countries to be announced in the coming months.

Blackpool Council leader Cllr Lynn Williams MBE said the event is a “standout highlight of our autumn programme” and that the town expects thousands of residents and visitors to attend. A spokesperson for Blackpool Tourism Limited added that the championship is a key part of the town’s major events calendar, which also includes the Blackpool Air Show, Ride The Lights, the Illuminations Switch‑On celebration and the Lightpool Festival.
