World Food Programme coordinates aid efforts in Egypt and Yemen

The World Food Programme (WFP) is engaging in high-level discussions to enhance humanitarian coordination and food security across multiple crisis zones.

In Egypt, Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met with Karl Sako, acting Executive Director of the WFP, to discuss addressing the catastrophic humanitarian situations in the Gaza Strip and Sudan. The discussions focused on ensuring sustainable access for humanitarian aid to Gaza and supporting the sovereignty and stability of Sudan. The meeting highlighted the need for international mobilization to secure aid delivery amidst regional escalations and supply chain disruptions.

In Yemen, Brigadier General Abdulaziz Awad al-Jabri, Director General of Security and Police in the Hadramaut coast, met with the WFP Mukalla office director, Shaker al-Lawzi. The meeting aimed to strengthen security coordination to protect humanitarian workers and facilities.
