World Hamburger Day celebrated in Mexico and Spain with new recipes and cultural focus

World Hamburger Day is observed on 28 May, prompting celebrations in several countries. In Mexico, poultry producer Bachoco used the occasion to discuss the hamburger’s evolution from a German‑inspired steak to a staple of Mexican social gatherings, noting that 11 % of households eat burgers and that beef remains the preferred meat. The company highlighted locally adapted versions featuring guacamole, jalapeño, chorizo and other ingredients, and promoted its “Parrilleros” line for family grill events.

In Zaragoza, Spain, the restaurant chain Hamburguesa Nostra marked the day by launching three new “explosive” burger recipes, offering diners fresh variations to commemorate the holiday.
