World Health Summit 2026 opens in Berlin to address global health resilience

The World Health Summit (WHS) 2026 opened in Berlin, convening over 4,000 participants from 130 countries to discuss global health resilience and innovation. Under the theme “From Crisis to Resilience: Innovating for Health,” the summit addresses critical issues including infectious diseases like Ebola, antibiotic resistance, pandemic preparedness, and health care in conflict zones such as Ukraine.

Key announcements at the summit include the Government of Bangladesh’s 250 million euro investment in women’s health, a move supported by the European Investment Bank. Additionally, the Wellcome Global Monitor 2026 was launched, reporting a decline in public trust in science since the COVID-19 pandemic. The summit also features discussions regarding future leadership for the World Health Organization (WHO).

Other reported findings include Gallup’s State of the World’s Emotional Health 2026 Report, which examines the impact of social media on emotional well-being.
