World Junior Summer Showcase in Windsor highlights top hockey prospects

The 2026 World Junior Summer Showcase took place in Windsor, Ontario, featuring junior players from the United States, Canada, Sweden and Finland as a preview for the upcoming World Junior Championship. Prospects including USA's Carter Amico, Jack Murtagh, Canada’s Jack Nesbitt and Brek Liske, and Finland’s Max Laatikainen participated, with the USA and Canada squads playing multiple games against Sweden and Finland.

During the tournament, USA forward L.J. Mooney scored the opening goal in a 5‑2 loss to Sweden, a performance noted as a promising sign for his role on Team USA at the winter championship. The event is non‑medal and serves to evaluate and promote players for future national team rosters.

The showcase provides exposure for the prospects and helps national programs assess talent ahead of the World Junior Championship.
