World Liberty Financial partners with venture offering restricted Chinese AI

World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency venture backed by Donald Trump, is collaborating with the Hong Kong-based AI platform WorldClaw. A Reuters review revealed that 43 of the 90 artificial intelligence models offered through WorldClaw are developed by Chinese companies, including Alibaba, Baidu, and Z. ai.

Several of these Chinese firms are currently under U.S. scrutiny. The Pentagon has designated Alibaba and Baidu as military-linked entities, while the Commerce Department has placed Z. ai on its Entity List. Additionally, companies like DeepSeek and Moonshot have faced accusations from U.S. officials regarding the theft of American intellectual property.

The Trump family holds a 38% ownership stake in World Liberty Financial and stands to earn revenue from the use of its USD1 stablecoin, which WorldClaw accepts as payment for AI services. Experts have noted that this business arrangement may conflict with the U.S. administration's strategic efforts to counter the rise of Chinese artificial intelligence.
