World Marriage Record Holders: US Man and Woman Lead, Brazil Couple Sets Longevity Record

Glenn “Scotty” Ulph of the United States holds the Guinness World Record for the most monogamous marriages, having legally wed 29 times between 1927 and 1996. His record‑sharing counterpart, Linda Wolf, also from the United States, is the record holder for women with 23 marriages, the first of which occurred at age 16.

In Brazil, Manoel Angelim Dino and Maria de Sousa Dino hold the record for the longest joint cohabitation, remaining married for 84 years and 77 days.

Bulgaria does not maintain a public register of individuals with multiple marriages, but legal practice notes a few citizens with five or six marriages. National statistics show that Bulgarian marriages ending in divorce last on average 16.3 years.
