World Nomad Games conclude in Kyrgyzstan

The VI World Nomad Games recently concluded in Kyrgyzstan, presenting a cultural-sporting alternative to major international organizations like the IOC, FIFA, or FIBA. The event highlights traditional disciplines that blend sport with cultural heritage.

Featured competitions include ‘ordo’, a military strategy game played with sheep or goat bones, and various forms of ‘kurash’, traditional Central Asian martial arts. Equestrian skills are central to many events, such as ‘er enish’, a mix of Greco-Roman wrestling and riding, and ‘tyiyn enmei’, where participants collect coins while galloping on horseback. Other disciplines include ‘salburun’, a hunting game utilizing falcons, taigan dogs, and archery.
