World of Warcraft announces Curse of Ula’tek update

Blizzard Entertainment has released details for the upcoming World of Warcraft: Midnight update, titled ‘Curse of Ula’tek’. The patch is scheduled for release on August 12 for European servers, following a pre-season period on PC.

A central feature of the update is the Coiled Isle, a new misty island region located east of Zul’Aman that serves as the prison for the loa Ula’tek. The update introduces the ‘The Venomous Abyss’ raid, featuring eight bosses, and the ‘Altar of Fangs’ 3-boss dungeon. Notably, Blizzard is removing the traditional ‘Heroic Week,’ making Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties available simultaneously to kick off the Race to World First.

Other significant changes include the introduction of ‘Lairs’ for World Bosses, which will use instanced areas to scale difficulty for groups of 15–25 players. Additionally, the update brings housing improvements, including new ways to save and share layouts, pet kennels, and expanded decoration options.
