World of Warcraft: Forever introduces new content and controller support

Blizzard Entertainment is introducing significant updates to the World of Warcraft experience through 'World of Warcraft: Forever'. This version aims to blend classic gameplay with substantial new content, including over 1,000 new quests, new regions, and updated zones such as Mount Hyjal. At launch, the game will feature two new raids and nine new dungeons.

A major addition is the 'Skyborne' race, a new playable race of blue elves available to both Alliance and Horde factions for a fee. Additionally, Blizzard is adjusting the in-game economy regarding mounts; the cost of unlocking riding abilities will increase, shifting the gold expenditure from the mount itself to the training required to use it.

In a technical development, Blizzard is also testing controller support for Xbox gamepads. Currently in an alpha phase, this feature is being tested within the Skyborne level 1-10 experience, allowing players to switch to gamepad controls automatically upon detection.
