World of Warcraft Midnight Season 2 Pre‑Season Content Overview

Blizzard announced that Season 2 of the World of Warcraft: Midnight expansion launches on 19 August with Patch 12.1. A seven‑day pre‑season runs from 12 to 19 August, during which players can complete depths (levels 1‑11), new dungeons such as the Atal'Utek chambers, and a new boss. Rewards in the pre‑season are limited to Adventurer‑grade gear, veteran insignia and occasional transmog items; after the ID reset on 19 August, generous depths, chest keys and the new “??” difficulty for the Depths Nemesis become available, granting a place in the Depths Hall of Fame.

The Journey of the Deep Explorer track, carried over from Season 1, offers ten progression tiers. Each tier unlocks specific goodies – transmog, heraldic banners, toys, decorations and a mount (the “Corroded Soulbreaker”) – as players complete depths and earn reward chests. The new content aims to equip players for upcoming raids and dungeons in Season 2.
