World of Warcraft prepares for Patch 12.1 content update

World of Warcraft is preparing for the launch of Patch 12.1, the first major content update for the Midnight expansion. The update introduces a new season, a new zone, and significant new content.

Players are advised to complete specific tasks before the patch goes live to optimize their characters. This includes fully unlocking the Omniumfoliant, a mini-talent tree that provides permanent performance upgrades for the duration of the Midnight expansion. Additionally, players should maximize their current gear using available marks, as these marks will disappear and item levels will be locked upon the patch release.

Patch 12.1 will also introduce 37 new mounts. While some are obtainable through gameplay—such as Mythic+ dungeons, the new raid, or Delves—others may be tied to the in-game shop or specific promotional activities.
