World Photography Day highlights technological evolution and artistic skill

In observance of World Photography Day, discussions have highlighted both the technological advancements in the field and the enduring necessity of artistic skill.

Sony has showcased its creator-focused tools, including the Alpha 7R VI. This high-resolution full-frame camera features a 66.8MP Exmor RS CMOS sensor and a BIONZ XR2 processor with an integrated AI processing unit. It supports 30fps continuous shooting and 4K 60p video recording, targeting photographers in landscapes, wildlife, and travel.

Veteran photographer R. A. Dass, a former employee of Hindustan Photo Films, emphasized that despite the shift from labor-intensive film processing and darkrooms to the digital and AI era, photography remains a craft requiring creativity, patience, and technical knowledge of light. Dass noted that the evolution from bellows cameras to digital technology has transformed the medium into various professional sectors, including cinematography and videography.
