World Population Review releases 2026 global IQ rankings

According to 2026 data from the World Population Review, East Asian regions continue to lead global intelligence rankings. Based on the International IQ Test (IIT), Hong Kong holds the top position with an average IQ of 107.73, followed by South Korea (106.97), China (106.48), Macau (106.32), and Japan (106.30).

Greece is ranked 39th globally with an average IQ of 99.55, placing it near the international average of 100 and comparable to nations such as Austria, Belgium, and the Czech Republic.

Beyond raw IQ scores, the Intelligence Capital Index (ICI) evaluates how effectively a nation utilizes knowledge within its innovation economy. Greece received a score of 40.1, corresponding to a B- grade. This metric highlights challenges in connecting academic knowledge with technological development, research, and the labor market, areas where the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany maintain an advantage.
