World Press Photo exhibitions open in Bologna and Bari

Exhibitions featuring the 69th edition of the World Press Photo awards are currently being held in Italy. In Bologna, the collection is on display at the Galleria Modernissimo from October 28 to November 29. The exhibition, promoted by Cineteca di Bologna in collaboration with Foto Image, includes a series of free talks and guided tours featuring international award-winning photographers such as Paula Hornickel, Alex Majoli, and César Rodríguez.

In Bari, the exhibition is hosted at the Teatro Margherita. As part of an educational initiative, organized by Cime, the event is holding open days on October 27 and 28 specifically for secondary school teachers and administrators from the Puglia region. These sessions aim to demonstrate the educational potential of photojournalism through guided tours and training.

The 2026 selection features 144 winning works by 42 reporters from major international outlets, including the New York Times, Washington Post, and Reuters. These images were selected from a total of 57,376 entries submitted by 3,747 photographers across 141 countries.
