World Press Photo hosts climate change exhibition in Belgrade
The World Press Photo Foundation, in partnership with the Kingdom of the Netherlands, is presenting a photography exhibition titled ‘Sa obe noge na zemlji’ (With Both Feet on the Ground) in Belgrade. The exhibition features twenty-one award-winning projects from the foundation's archive that explore the dual narratives of the global climate crisis and human adaptation.
The first segment of the exhibition documents environmental destruction caused by climate change, including rising sea levels, forest fires, droughts, and the exploitation of oil and coal. The second segment focuses on hope and activism, highlighting alternative energy, scientific food production solutions, indigenous customs, and protests against pipeline construction.
As part of the event, Dutch photojournalist and videographer Kadir van Lohauzen will conduct a workshop for young photographers in Belgrade from October 15 to 18, focusing on the visual representation of climate change.
