World Rally Championship returns to the US in 2027

The World Rally Championship (WRC) will return to the United States in 2027, marking the first time the series has visited the country since 1988. The event, known as Rally US, is scheduled to take place from August 26 to 29.

The gravel rally is expected to be held across Tennessee and Kentucky. This addition makes the WRC's 2027 calendar its largest since 2008, featuring 15 rounds. The inclusion of the U.S. follows a candidate event held this past June, which allowed the FIA to evaluate safety protocols, medical provisions, and operational structures.

Ford, a long-time participant in the WRC, has also announced plans to return to the championship with full factory backing starting in 2028, alongside the introduction of a new WRC car in 2029.
