At the 2026 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, French player Sonny Franco amassed a 1,315,000‑chip stack on the $1,500 Monster Stack event, leading a group of French competitors that also includes Pierre‑Jean Roche, Maxime Chilaud and others still in contention. In the $10,000 GG Million event, American Naseem Salem captured the top prize of $1,089,964, with Alex Cruz and Chad Lipton rounding out the podium.
Separately, a new three‑part miniseries on the Poker Hall of Fame was released, examining the history of inductees, controversial omissions and the criteria that define poker’s most revered figures. The series highlights early legends such as Edmond Hoyle and Wild Bill Hickok and traces the evolution of the Hall through modern tournament pioneers and television stars.
