World Skate Games in Paraguay to host 8,000 athletes

The World Skate Games ASU2026 is set to take place in Asunción, Paraguay, from October 2 to 18. The event is expected to draw approximately 8,000 athletes from 91 countries, with a total of 15,000 guests including officials and support staff. Juan Danieri, President of the Paraguayan Hotel Association, noted that the influx of visitors provides a significant economic boost for the local hospitality, transport, and retail sectors.

Slovakia will be represented by 37 athletes across various disciplines, including inline hockey, inline speed skating, alpine inline, downhill, skate cross, and skateboarding. Notably, skateboarder Richard Tury will compete for a spot in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, as the event serves as an Olympic qualification tournament for street skateboarding.
