World Surf League to return to Raglan in 2027

The World Surf League (WSL) has announced that the New Zealand Pro will return to Raglan as a stop on the Championship Tour for the 2027 season. The decision follows the success of the inaugural event held at Manu Bay in 2026.

The return is supported by a partnership between the WSL and the New Zealand government. Tourism and Hospitality Minister Louise Upton noted that the event helps promote Raglan and the Waikato region to a global audience, supporting local businesses and the economy.

The 2026 event featured top international athletes, including Olympic gold medalists Carissa Moore and Italo Ferreira, and provided a platform for New Zealand surfers Billy Stairmand, Alani Morse, and Tom Butland to compete at the highest level. The full 2027 Championship Tour schedule is expected to be released later this year.
