World Table Tennis players withdraw from Macao tournament

The World Table Tennis (WTT) circuit features several simultaneous competitions during the week of September 8, 2026. The WTT Champions in Macao will see significant changes to its lineup following the withdrawal of world number one Wang Chuqin and world number two Félix Lebrun due to injury.

In Macao, Nicholas Lum and Tom Jarvis will replace the two top-ranked players. Félix Lebrun, who recently won the Europe Smash, stated on Instagram that pain is preventing him from competing at full capacity, and he is focusing on recovery for upcoming events like the Grand Smash in China and WTT Champions Montpellier.

Simultaneously, the WTT Feeder tournament in Puerto Princesa, Philippines, is set to begin with qualifications on September 8 and 9. The event features a strong Asian presence, including players from Japan, Korea, India, Chinese Taipei, and Indonesia. Hayate Suzuki is among the notable players scheduled to compete for the 125 WTT ranking points available to the winner.
