World Tourism Day celebrated with cultural events in Cyprus and Greece

Various municipalities in Cyprus and Greece are holding cultural events to celebrate World Tourism Day.

In Polis Chrysochous, Cyprus, the municipality hosted its 23rd annual Day of Traditional Products and Folk Art. The event featured demonstrations of local food production, including halloumi and various traditional sweets, alongside exhibitions of folk crafts. The celebration included musical performances and traditional dances, as well as an awards ceremony for a local photography competition.

In Rhodes, Greece, the Municipality of Rhodes organized a musical performance titled ‘Lucky Star’ at Liberty Square. Featuring singer Thodoris Voutsikakis, the event aimed to strengthen the connection between the island's cultural identity and its tourism model, emphasizing music and history as pillars of a sustainable tourism experience.
