World Trail Races returns to Serra Pelada in Pará for second edition

The World Trail Races (WTR) league is holding the second edition of its Serra Pelada stage on 2 August 2026 in Curionópolis, Pará. The event combines trail running, mountain bike and duathlon races with community activities, offering 4 km, 6 km and 10 km courses and a Kids Race for children aged 1‑14. All participant slots are 100 % social: registration is free or tied to a donation of basic‑food baskets, and spots are reserved for residents of Serra Pelada, Canaã dos Carajás, Eldorado dos Carajás, Parauapebas, Curionópolis and Marabá. Compared with the inaugural 2025 edition, the number of places has risen by 50 %.

Beyond competition, the WTR arena will host zumba classes, an artisan market, local entrepreneurs, cultural performances and other community programmes, aiming to boost tourism and social development in the region. Vale, through the Sports Incentive Law, sponsors the race, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive sport and local economic growth.
