World Vision provides Chuseok meals to 490 vulnerable children

World Vision is providing special Chuseok holiday meals to 490 vulnerable children and low-income families across South Korea. This initiative is part of the ‘Love Lunchbox’ project, which has been running for 26 years to support children from single-parent, multi-generational, or dual-income households who may face food insecurity during holiday periods.

The support is being distributed through five regional offices, including Seoul, Gyeonggi, Gwangju, and Daejeon. Depending on local conditions, children receive either special meal kits containing holiday foods or vouchers for meal preparation costs. The latter allows children to select ingredients at traditional markets or grocery stores with their guardians, aiming to foster independent dietary habits.
