World Whisky Masters Awards Honor Grasmere and Scapegrace Distilleries

Grasmere Distillery, a small Lake District producer in the United Kingdom, won a silver medal for its Single Malt New Make Spirit at the Global World Whisky Masters, adding to the gold medal it secured the previous year. Founded by Paul and Beth Abbott, the distillery has invested in on‑site malting equipment and plans to release its first single‑malt whisky later in 2026.

Scapegrace Distilling Co of New Zealand received a Master medal for its Anthem Single Malt whisky and a gold medal for its Vanguard Single Malt at the 2026 World Whisky Masters. Co‑founder Daniel McLaughlin highlighted the use of locally grown barley, glacial water from the Southern Alps, and French oak aging. The awards bring the company's total to ten major global recognitions since 2024.
