Worldline Tap on Mobile transactions exceed 1 billion euros

Worldline has announced that its Tap on Mobile solution surpassed 1 billion euros in transaction value across European markets in less than nine months of 2026. The technology allows merchants to accept card payments using mobile devices without the need for traditional physical terminals.

Poland serves as the technological hub and testing ground for this solution. The architecture was designed and tested in Poland, utilizing technology from the Polish fintech SoftPOS.eu, which was previously acquired by the group. According to Artur Żymańczyk, Country Manager Merchant Services at Worldline Poland, the achievement confirms that software-based payments have become an established market standard rather than an alternative solution.

The platform is compatible with iOS and Android systems and adheres to the Mobile Payments on COTS (MPoC) standard. While initially aimed at small entrepreneurs to reduce hardware costs, the solution is now being utilized by large retail chains, banks, and logistics companies to quickly deploy payment points and integrate with existing POS or ERP systems.
