Worldline trims 2026 revenue growth outlook as banks delay contracts

French digital payments group Worldline cut its 2026 revenue growth forecast, now expecting flat to marginally positive growth instead of low single‑digit expansion. The company said the slowdown stemmed from banks postponing contract decisions after setbacks in 2025.

Chief Executive Pierre‑Antoine Vacheron noted that the recovery in new‑business revenue has been slower than anticipated, with banks taking longer to allocate contracts. Worldline has not posted organic revenue growth since late 2024 following money‑laundering allegations and a series of profit warnings that eroded customers and hit its share price.

Backed by major shareholders Crédit Agricole, BNP Paribas and state‑owned Bpifrance, Worldline secured a €500 million capital injection and pursued asset disposals. Revenue for the six months to June fell 0.2% to €1.74 billion, roughly in line with the €1.72 billion analysts expected. Adjusted EBITDA reached €294 million, beating the €273 million consensus. The firm kept its full‑year EBITDA outlook and narrowed its free‑cash‑flow target to a negative €60 million to €40 million range.
