LCK teams dominate opening day of Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage

The opening day of the 2026 League of Legends World Championship Swiss Stage in Allen, Texas, saw a dominant performance by LCK teams. All four South Korean representatives—Gen. G, Hanwha Life Esports, T1, and Dplus KIA—secured victories in their first matches, while all four LPL teams from China suffered losses.

In the LPL's difficult start, IG and TES fell to Gen. G and Hanwha Life Esports, respectively. Bilibili Gaming lost to Movistar KOI, and Anyone’s Legend was defeated by Karmine Corp. This marked the first time in tournament history that all four LPL teams lost their opening matches.

Dplus KIA secured a notable comeback victory against LEC's G2 Esports, overcoming a significant gold and kill deficit to move to a 1-0 record. Meanwhile, Gen. G advanced to 2-0 after defeating Hanwha Life Esports in the second round. The tournament continues with teams competing to reach three wins for qualification or facing elimination at three losses.
