WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 preparations advance with new ambassadors and international delegations
Preparations are underway for the WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 competition, an international event for young skilled professionals. The competition is expected to host approximately 1,400 participants under the age of 22 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, with an anticipated 1.2 million visitors.
In China, the WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 Executive Bureau has announced its second cohort of “Dream Ambassadors.” This group includes six “Great National Craftsmen” and former competitors, such as aerospace technician Wang Shuqun and gold medalist Liu Xinru. These ambassadors aim to promote the spirit of craftsmanship and encourage youth to pursue skill-based careers.
Austria is also preparing its delegation, with 48 young professionals representing various regions. Notable participants include Jennifer Lueger, who will compete in the bakery category, marking a milestone for Austrian competitors in this field. The Austrian team is currently entering its final preparation phase before traveling to China.
