WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 to host 1,400 competitors
The 48th WorldSkills Competition will take place in Shanghai from September 22 to September 27, 2026, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center. The event is expected to host over 1,400 competitors from more than 70 countries and regions, showcasing mastery in 64 different skill categories.
India has announced it will expand its participation by debuting in 11 new skill categories. These emerging fields include dental prosthetics, digital interactive media design, intelligent security technology, landscape gardening, optoelectronic technology, retail sales, unmanned aerial systems, industrial mechanics, software testing, heavy vehicle technology, and aircraft maintenance. Team Skill India plans to field nearly 70 competitors across 63 of the 64 available skills.
Visitor registration for the event is now open and free of charge. Interested attendees must register online via the official website or designated mobile applications, as on-site registration will not be available. International visitors are required to present their original passports alongside an E-Pass for entry.
