Wotan Wilke Möhring joins PETA campaign against marine zoos

German actor Wotan Wilke Möhring has partnered with PETA in a new campaign to protest the captivity of orcas and bottlenose dolphins in marine parks. In a promotional image, the actor is shown squeezed into a narrow bathtub to symbolize the cramped concrete tanks used in marine zoos.

Möhring is urging the public to boycott tickets for marine parks and dolphinariums, stating that the confinement deprives these animals of natural behaviors such as diving deep and swimming with currents. The campaign highlights scientific studies suggesting that captive marine mammals suffer significant physical and psychological distress, often leading to premature death.
