Wout Faes transfer to OH Leuven stalled by salary disputes
Leicester City is seeking a solution for Belgian defender Wout Faes, who is currently looking for a new club following a loan spell at AS Monaco. Leicester proposed a one-season loan to their sister club, OH Leuven, in the Jupiler Pro League.
However, the transfer is currently stalled due to financial disagreements. Leicester requested that OH Leuven cover 50 percent of Faes's salary, a cost that exceeds the club's typical wage structure. While a move to Leuven is not currently feasible under these terms, the situation remains open to revised proposals.
Faes, a former Anderlecht academy product, has played 135 matches for Leicester City across the Premier League and Championship since his 17 million euro transfer in 2022. As OH Leuven continues to search for a left-footed central defender, other Belgian clubs, such as Anderlecht, have been mentioned as potential destinations.
