Wouter Goes extends contract with AZ Alkmaar until 2030

AZ Alkmaar announced that 22‑year‑old defender Wouter Goes has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until mid‑2030, breaking the previous deal that ran to 2028. Goes, a product of AZ’s own youth academy after a stint at Ajax, has made 125 official appearances for the first team, scoring four goals and providing five assists. He was part of the squads that won the KNVB Cup and the Johan Cruijff Schaal.

Goes said the extension allows him to continue developing as a player and person, and he aims to be a role model for younger teammates. Technical director Niels van Duinen praised the move as a key priority for the club.
