wpd plans wind farm project near Mettmann

The wind energy company wpd has shared details regarding a planned wind farm project in the area between Obschwarzbach and Mettmann, Germany. The project is situated within the 'Met01-A' acceleration zone designated by the Düsseldorf District Government.

The plan involves the construction of four large-scale turbines, each in the 7-megawatt class, on approximately 30 hectares of agricultural land. Due to the proximity of residential buildings, the local citizens' initiative 'Windstill' has organized an information walk for residents to view the proposed site on August 30, 2026.
