WPIAL girls golf season preview highlights top contenders

The WPIAL girls golf season is set to begin, with several top contenders emerging across different classes. In Class 3A, Fox Chapel is considered a favorite as they seek their third title, led by seniors Clara Koteski, Abigail Freyvogel, and junior London Bitar. Defending WPIAL champion Peters Township returns four starters, including junior Betty Glyptis, following the graduation of standout Ellie Benson.

Other notable teams in Class 3A include Moon, Norwin, Oakland Catholic, and Elizabeth Forward. In Class 2A, North Catholic remains the team to beat, while Shady Side Academy is noted as a strong competitor despite losing two starters.
