WPIAL golf postseason: Local students qualify for championships

Several high school golfers have qualified for the WPIAL postseason championships. In Class 2A, Quaker Valley’s Joseph Kamnikar advanced to the final round after shooting a 4-over-par 75, trailing leader Levi Large by three strokes. Other qualifiers include Quaker Valley’s Ty Stofko and Sewickley Academy’s Cavan Walden. In the girls' Class 2A division, Quaker Valley’s Addy Davis secured third place in the first round with an 8-over 79.

In Class 3A, Norwin sent three senior golfers—Colin Madden, Landon Stoner, and Riley Shaffer—to the boys' individual championship. Additionally, Norwin junior Mia Ratesic qualified for the Class 3A girls golf championship following a fourth-place finish at the Section 2 tournament. The final rounds for these championships are scheduled to take place in early October at various country clubs.
