WPL 2027 Auction: Emerging Talent and Strategic Targets

As the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2027 auction approaches, franchises are evaluating both emerging domestic talent and strategic veteran acquisitions to strengthen their squads.

Young Indian players are drawing attention for their potential long-term value. Notable teenagers include 16-year-old batter Ira Jadhav, who recently scored an unbeaten 346 against Meghalaya in the Women’s Under-19 One Day Trophy, and 15-year-old Uma Kashvi. These players are listed with a base price of ₹10 lakh.

In terms of team strategy, Mumbai Indians are reportedly looking to address gaps in their opening pair and spin department. Experts suggest the franchise may target wicketkeeper-batter Sushma Verma to provide stability at the top of the order. Additionally, players like Amanjot Kaur and S Sajana are expected to remain central to Mumbai's roster considerations.
