WPL 2027 mini-auction to feature 146 players for 27 slots

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2027 mini-auction is scheduled for October 28 in Kochi, India. A total of 146 players will compete for 27 available slots, consisting of 20 positions for Indian players and 7 for overseas recruits.

England batter Sophia Dunkley and Australian captain Sophie Molineux have registered with the highest base price of ₹50 lakh. Other notable players with a ₹40 lakh base price include G Kamalini, Kiran Navgire, Heather Graham, and Jess Jonassen. The auction pool includes 119 Indian players—22 capped and 97 uncapped—and 27 overseas players.

Several high-profile players are absent from the auction, including West Indies all-rounder Deandra Dottin, Australia’s Alana King, and South Africa’s Lizelle Lee. Additionally, many English players have opted out, potentially due to scheduling conflicts with T20 Internationals in Sri Lanka and the higher salary offerings in domestic competitions like The Hundred.
