WPL 2027 mini-auction scheduled for October 28 in Kochi

The player auction for the 2027 Women's Premier League (WPL) is set to take place on October 28 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Kochi, Kerala. Starting at 5:30 PM IST, this mini-auction will involve all five franchises competing for 27 vacant player positions from a pool of 146 available players.

Franchises face varying financial constraints heading into the event; the UP Warriors reportedly hold the largest remaining budget, while the Mumbai Indians must complete their squad with the lowest available funds. The auction is expected to feature a mix of prominent international stars and emerging Indian talent. The fifth season of the WPL is scheduled to run from January 14 to February 7, 2027.
