WRC Promoter acquired by Cosmobilis and Park Square Capital

Cosmobilis and private credit investor Park Square Capital have acquired WRC Promoter GmbH, a transaction described by the FIA as “the largest deal in the history of these championships.”

During the Rally Paraguay, the new CEO of WRC Promoter, Eric Boullier, outlined strategies to elevate both the World Rally Championship (WRC) and the European Rally Championship (ERC). Key objectives include improving media coverage, commercial appeal, and fan accessibility.

While Boullier stated there are no immediate plans to drastically shorten rally durations, he expressed interest in expanding the “Super Sunday” format used in Estonia and Finland. This format features a single stage run twice, which is intended to make the sport more digestible for television broadcasts and more engaging for new audiences. Additionally, the new leadership aims to offer free access to events for fans whenever possible.
