WRDSB offers Chromebook opt-in for Grade 7 to 12 students
The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) has opened an opt-in period for students in Grades 7 to 12 to receive a board-provided Chromebook for the 2026-2027 school year.
Parents and caregivers can opt-in online via School-Day or request a paper form from their child's school. Students who already possess a WRDSB-provided device or a Special Education (SEA) device are not required to complete the process. Families also have the option to provide their own devices following the board's recommended technical specifications.
All provided Chromebooks remain the property of the WRDSB and are assigned to individual students. Upon graduation or leaving the school board, students are required to return the devices; any unreturned Chromebooks will be remotely disabled.
