WRECSAM letters arrive at Erddig Hall and Gardens
The giant ‘WRECSAM’ letters, a prominent landmark in Wrexham, have relocated to National Trust Cymru’s Erddig Hall and Gardens. The installation, a partnership between Wrexham County Borough Council and the This is Wrecsam Tourism Partnership, follows a summer residency at Stori Brymbo.
Created by local artist Simon O’Rourke, the letters were crafted from a single 200-year-old oak tree from Trevalyn. The artwork features intricate carvings representing Wrexham’s communities and landmarks, mounted on a steel structure that honors the region's industrial heritage. The installation is scheduled to remain at Erddig through October and November before moving to a new, undisclosed location.
