Catherine King outlines federal mental health support

Catherine King has outlined federal government support for mental health services, emphasizing that there is ‘no single solution’ to the issue. In Ballarat, the Head to Health clinic, funded by the federal government, provides free and confidential mental health services to thousands of people.

Additional federal investments include $1.2 million for a new facility in Dawson Street for young Australians aged 12 to 25, and a $500 million commitment to establish 20 new Youth Specialist Care Centres. Other initiatives include a Perinatal Mental Health Centre in Stockland Wendouree run by the Gidget Foundation and the Medicare Mental Health Check-In, a service delivered by St Vincent's Health Australia providing online and telephone support.
